Default Thoughts on Load Ranges for JK tires?

I fell in love with the BF Goodrich All-Terrain TA KOs, but they don't come in anything except for an E Load Range, which as I understand is pretty stiff and makes for a bumpy ride. I can handle the bumpy ride, but what I can't handle is whether it will affect my jeep (engine, shocks, etc.) more so than say a C range. I've never even thought of this until I was about to order them, I just hope my dream isn't about to shatter. Thoughts? Is an E any heavier than a C?

Thanks yall

brian

They won't break anything on your Jeep. But they also won't work as well off road when aired down. The extra stiffness prevents the tire from wrapping around boulders and the like as much as a C range tire would.

I run nothing but toyos on my trucks and have the MTs on the jeep. Theyre aval in load E only as well which is overkill on the wrangler but I love the tire that much. Really heavy tire tho. Not sure how it really impacts the preformance would be intresting to compare.

If your tire is only available in E, it's only available in E.

They are designed for heavier trucks, but lots of people run them on JK's. Around town, you can lower the pressure to soften the ride a bit. For longer trips, you'll probably want to air back up to normal to avoid excess heat.

Get them and go enjoy!

if you dont want E rating in the T/A you would need to drop a size. I have 305x70x16 and mine are D rated, but they are still stiff. If you go with the KM2 you can get a D rating in a 35

Mine will only be 32x10.50, but I would rather not drop down a size.

The Cooper Discoverer ST tires have a similar aggressive pattern, but I can get them in a C Load Range, might shoot for that.
