Thoughts on RK vs. Teraflex
But... you will admit the brackets make the most difference ?
MC, RK, Synergy all have progressive coils.
It just drives me nuts. "AEV=best handling" "designed by jeep engineers" "yada yada"
Drive without the brackets and you're right along with everybody else -running a good coil/shock setup.
This is not a bash on AEV. I ran their brackets before the Rancho's. Love em both.
I like the 2.5" option. 3.5-4.5, there's nothing for pinion angles. Steering correction uses crappy RHD drag link. I do give credit to their rear TB tower. There's things that should be done or could be done better.

I also notice that the only people defending the AEV drop brackets are people that own them. How come no other manufacturers use them? It's not because AEV is more advanced. It's because they're counter productive unless you're not wheeling it. The other companies would rather sell you control arms than 'cheater' brackets.
Agree with this. Nothing wrong with AEV, they make great stuff. I would just never consider any of the kits with drop brackets. They make control arms, they're just more expensive than their other stuff which is already over priced. So they're cutting corners to make themselves money. So what if it's cheating. A lot of people don't have the coin to drop on control arms and your knocking out basically adjusting all front control arms with these brackets. And they do improve ride quality. The majority of jeep owners spend most of their time on the road then on the trails. Just because it doesn't meet your needs doesn't mean it doesn't meet the needs of others. I think these companies made a great move creating these brackets.

Having had the AEV brackets and then switching to adjustable control arms I will say my JK handled a lot better with the brackets. I hated the look of the arms being flat and low and the lower stock arms taking a beating. I'll stick with the Synergy arms.
People can run whatever they want, I would never consider them. Obviously, advise others to do the same. If you like them, it's your Jeep. I would rather run control arms that's aren't known to have issues.
I'm still interested in the OPs supposed issues he has heard about MC from guys with jeep shops. I mean multiple guys running several shops...
And if why ask random Internet peoples for their opinion if you know SEVERAL friends with Jeep Shops (plural).

I ran them for a while too when I didn't have the funds to drop on adjustable arms. They absolutely lower your clearance by more than an inch from the stock location - but they served me fine until I bent them. I installed lower adjustable arms - no loss in handling
I had same experience. Actually mine improved a little but I think because of fine tuning. I did both upper and lower at same time. I basically got all 8 control arms free so hey why not put them on. But with the brackets it was better than stock without brackets.
