Thoughts on rubicon express?
Hi,
Just wondering what experienced opinions are on the quality of rubicon express lifts are. I've tried searching for info on this forum but the search option seems to bring up any thread with the word(s) you enter regardless of when or how many pages are in a thread. I think it may be easier to start a new thread rather than spend the next month combing through long threads.
My use would be 90% on road, 10% off road on light to moderate trails. (Would like to move up in difficulty when my lift/wheel tire combo allows) i like to wheel rocks and actually love rock crawling but wont ever get into the higher end of the extreme with it. (Unless i hit the lotto lol)

I have the 4.5" LA on my 09 JKUR. It has been on there for about 90,000miles.
This lift style is quite polarizing but I will give you my opinion.
1) The sway bar links have started to squeak. This is likely due to the amount of water we have in Louisiana, rain and otherwise. A bit of WD-40 and good to go for a few weeks.
2) Great "work truck" lift. I hunt in Arkansas, and fish in the gulf of mexico. It is not uncommon for me to run 300miles or more round trip in a weekend. I have retrieved deer on power lines and pulled our 21' boat all over for the last 90,000 miles with this lift.
3) I have replaced nothing except shocks and the rear shaft u-joints in 90,000 miles.
4)I don't run a huge tire, although the lift can handle a 37. I get 15mpg in town and 17.5mpg on the highway.
My suggestion is write down your goals for your jeep. They should be SMART goals. Then you will know if this lift will cover your goals.

Time-bound - learn this one or you are destined to become a hoarder, when you could be the king of recycling.

Cheap company, suspect geometry. Went bankrupt and was bought by a big vender that pushes the lift on uneducated consumers. People buy them based purely on price point.
