Default throttle body spacer

IS there a difference in tbs? There are several ones out there and they range from $40-$140? Is one better than the other?

I got a rugged ridge spacer for 40 bucks.... I noticed a difference, but in my head I know it really didn't do anything so that's where I notice the difference... In my head lol, one more thing to make ur mod list a lil longer though!

I don't believe they do much for multi-port injected engines, either, but I'd like to see some independent dyno sheets to settle the controversy.

im a fan of cars, but im no gear head. i dont really even understand the concept of adding one. if a longer air tube did anything, wouldnt they just add a longer tube from the factory?

There are lots of "improvements" the factory could make, but don't; probably because it jacks the EPA numbers around a little.

I think the throttle body thing is a carry-over from the old days when engines had carburetors on them. I can see where certain spacers may improve the mixing of the air and fuel on those engines.
On our engines, the fuel isn't added to the air until a long ways after the throttle body. In fact, it's added at the valves in the head.

Thanks, y'all just saved me some money. I guess I will look into cold air and high flow muffler?
