Default Thump when i accelerate

I installed new Coast front and rear driveshafts a couple weeks ago. The other day I started hearing a thump when I take off from a dead stop. I pulled my rear shaft tonight to check the u joints and flanges. I couldn't find anything lose or damaged. Fluid levels are good in the transfer case and diff. Anyone run across this problem or have any ideas?

i assume you installed rear upper control arms so that you could set your pinion angle, correct? have you checked your bolts to make sure they've been tightend to the proper 125 ft lbs of torque? the sound you are describing sounds like a bad bushing but, in your case, more likely a loose control arm bolt allowing your axle to shift around.

Yes I have adjustable arms and I've tightened the bolts, but I will check again. Can something be over tightened? Thank you for the help.

not really. don't know what kind of control arms you have but, if you've had them for a while, i would check the bushings to make sure they are bad.

They are new. I put them on when I did the shafts recently, but I will look close at them. Thanks!
