Default Time for the next mod. Choosing a front bumper. ARB vs XHD!

My wheels and tires are on order, so I'm planning out what comes next. I'v narrowed it down to the XHD front bumper with the end caps and winch bar, or the ARB deluxe full width bumper. The ARB looks much stronger, so I'm leaning to that one at the moment, but for a little bit more, I could get the XHD and a winch at the same time. In the long run, I'v got plenty of cash to play with, so the price difference is more of an afterthought. It would only mean I get the bumper sooner.

From what I read, the XHD actually weighs more then the ARB. Would it possibly be more durable? How sturdy do the end caps feel for those that have them? Are they metal or plastic? I want something that would best defend my Jeep in the event of bumping a tree, or another vehicle. I just paid the Jeep off last week and now have the title all to myself, so I want to protect my baby

Thoughts?

Those end caps on the XHD now come with a storage option...check the new ones out on quadttatech....they are metal not plastic...I'd go with the XHD just because its modular....

my 2 cents

My vote would be for the ARB...I love mine and I've always loved ARB build quality. It also flows with the lines of the JK very well. Now, I'm not trying to say that the ARB is better than the XHD because I really don't know anything about the XHD, but from what I've read on here...people love it. However, if I was to go with the XHD, I'd go with just the stubby, but for a full-width I'd definitely go with the ARB if I had to do it again.

Just my $.02

If it's gonna be full width go with the Arb, I love how you can change up the RR bumper but the overall styling of the ARB has always attracted me to it, it looks really good on the JK.

My buddy just rear ended a taurus with his ARB. He totaled the taurus, the only damage to his ARB were the small square cushions on one side. All involved in the accident were fine. Until the cops showed and her neck started to hurt

YOU ARE CORRECT. now i'm being sued.

BUT............anyone interested in a ARB............they are ROCK SOLID. literally one crush can ruined and a few scratches.

We recently installed ARBs on most of our work trucks. Reasonable price for a good looking tough as nails bumper.
