Default Time for an upgrade?

Hi

Ive recently been talking with my partner and we are thing of upgrading to the 2014 or 2015 2 door Wrangler as we are starting to get a bit board trying to figure out ways to make or current one look better!!

We are almost sold on the idea however we are still figuring out whether we should get the accessories pack. Ive been looking at our closest dealer's website which is Berwick Jeep chrysler and there accessories pack - link here Accessories seems reasonable but not sure if it would be cheaper to get the parts separately?

Its almost always cheaper to buy accessory aftermarket parts from other companies than it is to buy from dealership. Speaker upgrade is over $1000 from dealer. You can upgrade your speakers yourself for a fraction of that. Or even go to an audio place and it'd still be cheaper.

Never buy accessories from the dealer, is my motto. They "mark up" out the a$$!

$4200?!? I don't know what things cost out there, but here that's highway robbery.

Since your Down Under, get an ARB bumper front and rear, with ARB rails for half that at a local shop. Better quality than Mopar's bumpers and the accessories.

Chrome doesn't look good on new jeeps.

^What he said. Mopar parts for the Wranglers are nothing more than Rugged Ridge or Smittybilt crap that's been rebranded with Mopar and jacked up in price. Depending on what bumper you get from Mopar it could be $700 for a tube bumper to $1200 for the 12a or a rebranded AEV. My Metalcloak bumper cost me about $750. That thing is beefy. I hit a tree at about 10 mph and the only damage to the bumper was a couple of scrapes and a slight bend in the stinger.

True thanks guys I have previously been ripped off on dealer packages before so just wanted to check. I suppose if i was to order each part individually plus shipping and installation may actually end up costing more too especially as it need to be shipped to Melbourne.

do you think i should not bother getting the mopar extras and save it for doing it up properly with after market parts?

I am a big believer in not paying for needless manufacturer/dealer options. The items you should consider are the ones you can't do and or who be very expensive to have done post build.

Check what the after market parts scene looks like on the web. My guess is even with installation, a lot of accessories will be cheaper in the end than what the dealer and you will get what you want vs what they want to sell you.
