Default Tips for self install on 4" lift

So according to 4wd and their "check your order" my Rancho 4" lift and 9000xl shocks will be here tomorrow! Heck yes

My Father and I are going to attempt this lift ourselves this upcoming Saturday, and for the most part we have the simple tools including air tools. However I'm sure there is tools I don't have that would make this job a bit easier. Hopefully I can rent them from local auto store. This will be our first attempt at a lift. I currently have a 2.5" BB but that was installed by someone else.

Any tips on which tools I may need and or other suggestions to do this lift at home? In fact if any local Houston Jks want to help out, come on by. Jeeps and beer

After installing 2 kits, 1 cheap BB, and a full lift from northridge, the issue that I found was making sure the caster was set correctly. My tools are fairly limited and there was nothing I was missing.

I ended up bring it to someone to set the caster as the rest was straightforward and simple.

Get a pickle fork. It makes pitman arm removal quick. It should be about 6-8hrs of labor. It's easy but time consuming your first go around. At about 2-3 hrs in you'll need to start drinking, it makes things go smoother. Have fun. Make sure to torque everything once you get it all on the ground.

Having a second jack comes in handy to make adjustments to get control arms etc to align easier.

Tips?
Follow the links WOL posted. I did my TF 3" lift following project-jk and jk-forum writeups. TF instructions are pretty good too.
Even though you are not installing a teraflex product, check out their videos and you will pick up some tips.
check your camber before the lift and if you are happy with handling, shoot to get it back where it is.

tools?
big jack stands
jacks
socket set
big adjustable wrench for adjustable control arms
grease gun and grease
wrench set
angle finder or i-phone or i-pod touch
dead blow hammer to help get stuff moving
patience
