Default tire carrier

Does anyone know if I can run a 37 on my stock tire carrier or is it too much pressure on the tailgate? Looking into the Rancho Off Road Rear bumper with tire carrier. Thoughts on that? Thanks fellas.

Haha, I ran one for a couple weeks with a big rachet strap going around it and the tailgate. Just opening the tailgate it felt like it was gonna rip off. I dont reccommend running it that way, thought it was ok, then I backed into a tree.

I wouldn't do it. Get the tire carrier.

You could always just get the OR-fab tire carrier and keep your stock bumper.

Another option is the AEV tire carrier, sans bumper. It will also work with the stock bumper and is (in my opinion) superior to or-fab, though more expensive. It will open with your tailgate as one, has a shovel mount and optional reverse / brake lights and CB antenna mount.
Also, when it comes time to upgrade your rear bumper, it will work with the aev bumper (obviously) and possibly other bumpers, though they havent been tested.
It attaches to the frame.
