Default Tire carrier or not

Ok I have a 08 jk and I'm getting 33's. Do I need to get a swing away tire carrier or can I get by with the stock one.

I just put on 33" Duratracs and the spare fit fine. Maybe someone who has had them longer can tell you if there are any long-term issues.

I am sure alot of that has to do with width of tire and type of rim. My 10' Rubicon came with 32" to include the spare. They are a more aggressive tread MT but they are no wider then the ATs on the non Rubicon editions.

The key is the tire has to make pretty good contact with those rubber bumpers behind the tire. By doing that it is held securely and can't bounce around, the bouncing is what will bust it all up.

CJP,
Nice looking Jeep. I really like the looks of the wheels also. What brand/part number are they?

Thanks

I like them also, they are procomp xtreme alloy and if they are 16s like mine they are number 7089.

Do these wheels have the 4.5" backspacing? Also I know there has been some discussions about hub centric verses using lug nuts for wheel centering. Do you have any issues with that?
