Default tire dilemma

Ok, so i have a brand new 2012 JK 4-door Sahara.
I am planning on throwing on a RC 2.5" BB, 35" tires and new wheels with 4.5" backspacing

I know it will fit and some actually run with no lift.

The dilemma...

I have the possibility to get 37" MTR/Kevlar with nice wheels (4.5" backspacing) locally.
The tires have about 6000 miles on them and measure 36" when on vehicle and wheels are mint

Will they fit ok for purely street use with the 2.5" BB?

Anything else I should consider?

Again this Jeep will not see any wheeling so articulation is of no concern

I appreciate your comments

It would be a squeeze for sure. At the very least you would have to trim the pinch seams.

yeah i think the pinch seam would have been an issue with 35's as well

Thanks

It won't look good. I would at least cut the fenders

You could also throw on a body lift if you want the 37's. But you will also want to regear with 37's, which is a major expense.

Don't do it! Even 35's on a 2.5" lift can be pushing it. 3.5 - 4" of lift is ideal for 37's, not 2.5".

As mentioned above, you would definitely need flat or chopped fenders. You'll also want to re-gear, gas mileage will be worse.

x2 on both points. A 1" or 2" Performance Accessories body lift would be an inexpensive way to make room for the 37"s and would def. need to regear.

I presently have 3.73 gears...it's a 2012 auto

I didn't think there would have been such a difference between 35's and 37's

35's are considered borderline for the '12 with 3.73. 37's and you're probably going to want gears. It would be comparable to 35's on 3.21.

It might be livable. You could always try it and decide later. However, a good price on gears + labor will run $1000.

I think front and rear bumpers will rub as well. Inner plastics in the rear will definitely rub, going over bumps.
