Default Tire help

I am a fairly new jeep owner and am ready to do a few mods. I apologize for the questions but I want to rely on the experts on here before I do domething wrong. I have already installed a new bumber and winch and am ready for tires. I currently have 255 75R 17. I'm not looking for a monster truck so was thinking about 33inch. My question, is there a significant difference in the 33s than what I already have? If I put on the 33s will I also need to install a lift? What about a procal? is that required? Lastly, I need a good all around tire that can hadle some harsh Pennsylvania winters but I also want the agressive tread look, any tire suggestions?

Going from a 32 to a 33 isn't a big enough change to need a re-gear or Pro-cal and if you don't disconnect your sway bar and don't go over 11" wide shouldn't need spacers. You may need to adjust your steering stops though.

I ran 295/70/17 Nitto Terra Grapplers for awhile, they were an awesome all around tire. Did great in the snow up here in the Sierras. Handle perfect on road and on trails. Not meant for mud therefor don't do very well in it. Also a very high mileage rated tire. When I ran these, I did need a small spacer being I'm using oe size wheels.

FYI You should always post what your Jeep is or at least have it listed in your sig or bio. Year, auto/stick rubi/sahara/sport and the gears you have, if you're asking about power issues. I just know after asking a lot of questions and everyone always came back with "well what do you have now"

Default tire choice

okay. I have decided to go with 33 x 12.5 x 17. I narrowe it down to BFG KM2 or Goodyear MTR. My jeep is a DD so I need something to stand up in rain, snow etc. Also good tire wear. I also do some modest off-roading. Anyone have any opinions/experience with either of the tires listed above?

I have 33 12.50 MTR's on my cj7 and love them. Great all around tire, much more stable in snow and rain than my km2's on my old pickup. The MTR's balance well and aren't as heavy as others. When I wear out my stock KM's on my rubicon I will be installing MTR'S.

Same setup but I'm running cooper stt. 2nd winter with them great so far. About 60-70% tread left. Go even better in the mud. Pa jeeper.

Ran Cooper STTs 275x70 on stock 18s and Spidertrack spacers for 90,000 miles no lift and 2.5 TeraFlex coil lift.

Had to adjust steer stops prior to adding the spacers since they rubbed the lower control arms while turning.
