Default Tire pressure

I have 4 door with 35" BFG KM2 on AEV Beadlocks. What is the best tire pressure for hwy/street driving. The shop that installed recommended 40psi. Is that to high?

Yep, 30psi in mine. They had 40psi in them at one time and the ride was much more harsh and I wasn't getting a full contact patch either.

Yep, chalk test and I bet you end up around 30psi or less. It's gonna ride SO much better!!!

I have the same 35x12.5x17 BFG KM2s on mine. Shop told me they set them at 32-34, but after driving a week (500 miles) and seeing the outside edge nipples still on there (i.e. edges not riding on ground b/c overinflated), I checked the pressure and it was at 38-40 range.

I dropped them down to 32psi and it improved the right quality (wasn't actually that bad at 40psi IMO even) and appears I am getting a more correct footprint. May drop down to 30psi even...

Default Chalk test

Could some one explain how to do a chalk test properly. I've never heard of this before.

Check the link that the Planman listed. It has an exact "how-to" on doing a chalk test.
