No troubles...I have 17x8 with 4.5" BS rim with Cooper STT 33x12.50R17 tire no rubbing issues lock to lock. With the 265's are basically stock height and just a little wider than stock....you won't have any issue.....I know a few members have placed 285's with no issues.

Generally, most 35s require an approved rim width range of 8.5-11 inches, so 8 inches might be a little narrow. The tire will physically fit the rim, but it may bow the tire inwards a little more than you may like.

Go to the manufacturers website for whatever tires you are looking at. They have the specs listed - including the recommended rim width for every tire they carry.

Also check the Wheels & Tires section in the FAQ's:

https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/modified-jk-tech-2/modified-tech-faq-answers-questions-every-newbie-has-18617/

This will have backspace recommendations, and a ton of other information you may or may not need. (or will need, but may not need 'yet')

You should be fine for both as long as you don't go too wide with the 35s.... I'm running 285/75/16s / 8" /w/ 4.5"bs......no probs.

IMHO....stay clear of the 18's and 20's....you will spend a fortune on tires!!!

I got 5 - new 17x8" rims and 5 - 33x12.5R17 Cooper STT's cheaper than getting 5- 33xx12.50R18 Cooper STT's. You will get even cheaper with a 15 or 16" rim!

How about a set of rims 17x8.5 with a 5 back spacing and some dick cepk tires 35x12.5x17? Does Dick Kepek make good tires and rims? Is there a sir where i can see how a tire is rated on snow/ice/mud? Are interco TrXus tires any good?
