Default Tire Question

Since I'm not going to be lifting my Jeep for a while I was wondering what is the biggest tire you can fit on a non-lifted Jeep... that won't rub on stock 18" Sahara wheels?

Stock fenders....a 33x12.5R18 tire will fit with 1.5" wheel spacers without any modifications. You could fit a 34" or 35" with a fender trim or flat fenders.

This is asked all the time. 33s won't rub at all, 35s are doable with fender trim and air dam trim.

From the sticky thread: "MODIFIED TECH FAQ - Answers to the Questions Every Newbie Has"

Q: What is the biggest size tire I can fit on my stock Jeep JK Wrangler?
A: The largest tire size that the factory recommends is a 255/75R17 (which comes standard on Rubicon models) or a 32x10.50. However, there are many Jeep JK Wrangler owners who are currently running as big as 285/70R17 or 33x10.50's with little to no rubbing issues.

You can find more about it here:

Good luck!

Don't spend the $ on spacers. Buy some nice aluminum 17x9s with the proper offset and 33x12.5 tires! You can then sell your original rims (like I did) and come out better financially. As long as you don't buy some $200+/wheel rims. And the look is sweet too.

BTW, pay attention to the price difference between identical 17" vs 18" tires. Save $ there too.

All just my opinion.

If you buy some nice rims....Keep the stock rims and tires and run them in the winter months let the salt & gravel bet the snot out of the stockers.
