Default Tire question

I purchased a 2011 Rubicon Unlimited a couple days ago, and just picked up some OME springs for it. My intention is to run a 295/70 17 tire on an aftermarket wheel. I would like to go ahead and lift it and buy the tires and just run the stock wheels for now. Will this tire on the stock wheel rub on suspension components without spacers? Anyone have this combo they care to post pics of?

you will most likely have rubbing at a full turn and, depending on what rear sway bar links you run, may be super close to the sidewalls of your rear tires if not making contact with them. it's hard to say as every tire measures out a bit differently especially when it comes to metric sizes.

First off - congrats on the new Rubicon!

But to answer your question - yes, that tire WILL rub without any spacers on the stock wheels. Depending on how long you plan on running the tires on the stock rims, your other option is to adjust your steering stops till the new wheels arrive. You'll lose some turning radius, but will save the $200 that you would have spent on a set of spacers. Here's a write-up on how to do it:

And let's see some pictures of this new Jeep!

(Oh, and BTW - with that OME lift, you should be able to run 35" tires instead of the 295/70's. ...just a thought.)

Thanks for th congrats. I know it will fit 35's but I dont really want to go that big. I am concerned that 295,s will look too small, but the guys at ARB say it wont(there Na distribution center is 5 min from ny house). The tire choice will be Trail Grapplers, I had them in the same size on my truck and they were great.
I will post some pics soon....its Sahara tan. Would still like some pics of this combo if anyone is running it.

I can get something close. I have those same size tires, except mine is a 2-door with a Teraflex Leveing Kit.
