Default Tire Selection

OK...Need some help in deciding between two different tires, I'm looking at either Dunlop Mudrovers or Hankook M/T's they're both in my price range. I've had the Mudrovers on a YJ and like'd em, but they were alittle soft and wore alittle quicker then I'd like. I wish I could afford the Toyo's or the BFG's but my pockets are alittle shallow and the mortgage and other bills come first. I'm getting 35/12.5's so let me know what you think. O yeah running a 3" lift and will be gettin black steelies with 4.25 BS.

I've read good reviews of the Hankooks.

What size wheels are you going with?

I think the hankook RT03 would be the perfect "hybrid".
But, I've seen a set worn down (I don't know how many mi, but still plenty of tread left)
and the two center grooves were gone.

They should cut them to full depth.

With that said, I am on a tight budget as well and the RT03 is still on the table for me,
but leaning more toward an A/T.

I've got the Hankook Dynapro MT's on mine, only been off road a couple times so far but I like em.....they seem to be pretty durable, I spun alot on a rock ledge but you can't tell by looking at the tires. On that same rock ledge with my Mickey Thompson MTZ's, there were lots of scratches and cuts across the tread. They ride pretty good ON the road too, BTW.

They're not as aggressive as the MTZ's that I had before, but so far I've been impressed with em off road and the fact that they are not as aggressive makes me think they might last a little longer too....hopefully. And I've read some reviews on the Dunlop's in the past that were NOT good...

Wait and get the tires you really want, no sense spending almost as much and wishing you had something else!

The problem is I'll be waiting for quite a while, and my tires now are almost slicks, they were cheap-o's from the local tire shop, they've held up well for almost 40,000 on them but they're getting slick and I need to do something soon like in the next 5,000. and seeing how I drive almost 300 miles a week for work, it's not goin to take to long. I really like the look and tread of the Hankooks, but like I said in an earlier post I just wanted to ask my fellow jeepers.

I think you'll be happy with the Hankook's...for the money, they're hard to beat IMO. And, they're kinda in-between an AT and an MT so it's a good balance for me...good on road and off.
