Default tire size?

im currently running 35x12.50s and getting close to 10mpg (so the trip computer says) and im probably going to be going down in size within the next week or so. would 33s be a better alternative? and if so what width would be good? i test drove a newer jeep yesterday at the dealer to see how i liked the smaller tires, and i absolutely loved them....tons more more and a lot more responsive. also, what kind of tire would be best? i still would like to retain the aggressive look.

trying to save some gas! i used to get close to 20mpg and would like to get back into that range, would a new exhaust help? my stock one is beginning to rust. i already have a CAI.

thanks in advance for your help!

How committed are you? Run a 235/85R-16 at 80 PSI if you're really serious.

Never trust the mpg estimate on the dash. Always hand calcalate your mpg. If you don't have gears or a programmer, thats the first thing to get. If your speedo is off so is your mpg calculations.

Going down to 33s seems backwards to me, but thats only my opinion. lol

The width can kill mileage as easily as the height. Wide tires with an aggressive tread have lots of rolling resistance.

Depending on the wheels you have, you could do a 255/85/16 or a 255/80/17. Both are narrow 33ish tall tires.

I loved the Terra Grapplers when I had them on my Dodge 3500. Excellent rain/snow traction and did pretty dang good in the dirt.

They only lasted about 22K miles, but that was on a truck that tows 11,000lbs and makes about 3x the torque a JK does.

On a JK,I'd expect 50K+ out of them.
