Default 35 inch tires and gearing

I have a 2008 Jeep jk and I’m putting a 2.5inch lift with 35 inch tires should I be ok with the stock gears on the Jeep. Thanks for any advice.

What gears do you have? If you have 3.21, then the general consensus is that 35's suck due to significant loss of power.

I’m thinking it’s a 3.73 gear ratio because it’s an automatic and it has a tow package.

Reach down and press the OD/OFF button every time you get in. That will get you by until you decide to pay for gears.

35s with 3.73 aint the end of the world in an auto with the 3.6L. .... but I can't imagine it being very good with the 3.8L. That said, you get used to your own normal regardless of how sucky it might be.

The tow package is not a good indicator of gear ratio. Don't know about your year, but in 2012, the tow package only got you a receiver and the wiring. Only the Max tow package included the 3.73 gears.

Gears are subjective, whether you will like it or not depends not only on elevation and terrain, but also personal preference. I've got a 2-door rubicon with 3.6, manual, 4.10s, and 35s. I live at 250ft elevation, and I feel like it is a dog And can not wait to re-gear. My cousin, who lives a few miles down the road, had a 4door, 3.8, auto, 3.21s, and 35s for years and thought it was alright.

Idk.
