Default Tire - Wheel Back Space

Is anyone running LT 295/75R16 BFG AT. on Crager 397 soft 8,s 16x8 .
with out any lift? Are you having any problem with rubbing when the steering is turned all the way to either direction.Would the 5" back space on these wheels cause a rubbing problem. TIRE DIA. 33.2 X 11.5 WIDE.

THANKS FOR ANY INFORMATION YOU CAN GIVE ME.
JIM

I'm not running this setup but can tell you that running 33's will most likely cause rubbing of your air dam at a full turn. Factory BS is 6.25" so 5" of BS should help prevent any other rubbing except for on the fenders at a full stuff.

With 4" of backspacing, 12.5" tires won't stick out more than an inch or two at most--so depending on the state you live in, I'd go with the 4" bs instead of the 5" bs. That way, if down the road you decide on a budgest boost (or coil spring) lift, you won't run into rubbing issues at flex with 5" bs wheels.

Thanks for the info.,considering the 295/75 16 tire is only 11.5 wide and not 12.5 wide,do you think this will help eliminate the fender rub as well.Do you think a 2" coil spring lift will also help if needed?
THANKS AGAIN FOR ANY INFO.

I have 4.75" of BS on my wheels now (almost 5") and my 12.50 wide tires stick out about 2" past my flares now. I do not have any rubbing problems with them. Going with 4" of BS (more like 3.75" as it is a more common BS), your tires would be sticking out about 3" past your flares and this can be a potential problem with your local law enforcement if you have fender laws in your state. Just something to consider

hey guys with a 4 in lift whats the most and least backspacing i should have without any rubbing? and with no other mods? everything else is stock for now. I was thinking about 6.25 or is that too much backspacing and whats the least amount i should go? 4.25?
