Default Tirerack

OK, I just picked up (4) 255/75/17 BFG MT TA KM's for $59 each at Tirerack.com. They are load rating C and say "Different Tread" in the description. I know there is something not right, but that price was hard to pass up. Are these tires going to have a different tread pattern than a regular MT TA KM? Are they screwed up tires? Are they only going to last 10K miles? Or did I just do a really smart thing and get a great deal?

No they are just fine. These are the stock rubicon tires. They are called "different tread" because they in fact have a different tread lug pattern that is unique to the jeep wrangler rubicon. They were specifically made for Jeep and these are probably overstock. I bought one for 93 from them awhile back to replace a punctured tire on my rubi - I heavily inspected it and its an exact match, so not to worry.

Holy crap, that's cheap!

I bought mine at Discount Tire B&M. Great tires.
Worlds better than the POS Goodyears SR-As that came stock.

Well, I guess I am happy then. I was about to buy larger 285/70/17's, but figured I would just stay with the stock tires for my Rubicon until I could afford to do the lift and new tires and wheels. Sure can't beat the $59 price.
