Tires
so I go to the tire store today, the salesman wheels out a 295-65-18 ( I have new 18" rims just no tires yet) it is also stamped 33 1150 18 on the label as well. we roll it out to my jeep with the stock 17" 255 75 17 tires and the terra grappler measure out to a weak 32"??? not quite an inch taller than my stockers?
So now I am scared to death to buy tires online without seeing them in person. I am looking for a true 33 1150 18 or similar. anybody out there give me the brand an nomenclature that will give me this height and width ?
I expected a little fudge factor but wasnt expecting a full inch different than the stamped on tire size???
Preciate all the help

Some of the places on line have the actual closer sizes listed with the info of the tire. No need to not order on line because of that, just look around or ask someone here, chances are some one will know if they are not running them.

I was looking on Nitto's website, and they don't even show a Terra Grappler in a 295-65-18. I was also looking at a conversion calculator that I have and a 295-65-18 should be 33.1" in diameter. Yes, tire manufatures usually fudge and round up, that's why I was looking on Nitto's site to see what they showed for the true tire size. They actually show a 285-65-18 as 32.52x11.22 . Looks like you could try a 325-60-18, that equates to a 32.99x12.83, a little wider than you are looking for, but you might have a hard time finding a 33" tire that's 11.50" wide since 12.50" is more the norm. By the way, where did you get these tires?
