Default Which tires to get?

I'm getting a 2.5 inch coil lift. What tires do you recommend? I'll be 85% on-road and 15% off-road.

I am running with Nitto Terra grapplers, they have been great. They do well in all situations except deep mud. I have decided I want a little more aggressive tire and I think I will be going with the Goodyear MT/R Kevlars....I drive about 100 miles a day for work, so I need that tire that is truly dual purpose...

I'm running the BFG Mud-Terrain T/A KM. (same tire for the Rubi) I don't know why anyone would rush to get something else. Maybe the difference in the terrian. You can get a set of 5 for around 600 dollars and they last for ever.

Default my tires

I got a 2.5" lift as well on my unlimited and am running a 17x9 wheels with 4.5" backspacing and 35x12.50 Nitto Mud grapplers and love them. I am mainly on road but am planning a trip to a local park called durhamtown. I do some dirt roads after rain but they are nasty red clay roads. They dont rub at all in turns but they do scrub on te rear flares if i flex it much so I am going to do a fender chop to remedy that.

Nitto's really, for a DD From what I know they would be pretty bad for a daily driver. I don't have them but, a lot of my friends have them. They are really noisey. I have mickey T's mtz 'cause it's a radial M/T. People say that they only last about 30k miles but, that's 'cause the rubber is softer. Meaning they are stickier which is better IMO. Just my 2 cents.

MTZ's are great onroad. I don't know how long they last, but I've been very impressed with their road manners and how quiet they are. They're definitely quieter than my Rubicon's stock M/Ts. Which btw, have surprisingly good road manners.

I must be hungry. Every time I look at this thread title I think it says "Which tires to eat".

Are you staying stock size or going up to 33's (or even 35's)?

If staying stock, the BFG Mud-Terrain T/A KM1's are tough to beat considering their cheap price, decent road manners, and good off-road capability. I spent $470 for a set of 5 from Discount Tire Direct (but it did include a $70 rebate). I honesty find them almost no different on-road than the stock Goodyears. If going bigger in size, then looks for one of several excellent extreme A/Ts to meet your needs.
