I have had both, and both are great tires. They are very equal in my opinion. I went with my MTRs this time because of the smokin deal I got on 5 new tires. I also think the MTRs are a little quieter on the highway.

Default Tires

I have had both on other vehicles and new jeeps. I believe the BFGs to grip better and are MUCH quieter on the highway. In my case less $ as well.

I have narrowed it down to these two tires as well (that and PJ Dirt Grips). I cannot decide, though. I am looking for:

1) Longevity (how many miles to expect)
2) Snow Traction (we get a lot of it in W. Michigan)
3) Mud Traction
4) Quietness on Highway

I heard that PJ Dirt Grips don't last very long at all.

Any advice.

You guys (and gals) are awesome. I love this site!

Im TOLD the goodyears grab onto the mud and dont let go. So you could be on your way home on a real road and just then releasing clumps of mud.
So while on the trail you'd just have mud caked on staying on.

I've had BFG's on my last two Jeep's and don't have any complaints. Took the Jeep from Ohio to the Outer Banks and the ride with the M/T's was great, not noisy and handled great.

Not so fast my friend, the Nitto Mud Grapplers are very, very good. I have 35" Nittos on my JK and had 38" Toyo's on my CJ. They are neck and neck. The only advantage that I know for a fact, is the Toyo's are quieter.

If you go with the Goodyear, you MUST rotate them VERY frequently or they wear werid which causes them to be extremely loud. On my third set...probably gonna checkout the Toyos next.

Toyos are quieter, have better tread wear and balance with less weight. Toyo has been #1 in product quality for 7 years.
