I am ordering 5 35" Toyo MT's on XD rockstars for my 08 rubicon and I was wondering how many tire pressure stems I should be installing? I would imagine a 5th in the spare would confuse the system? Also, where is the best place to get inexpensive after market stems? I have a set of 4 i purchased for my 06 300c, will these work?

edit: I only have 4 (not one in the spare) and the TPMS works fine. the only reason I have 4 is because I didn't get a TPMS stem from the factory in my spare.
Hi, I think that you can use the TPMS valve stems you purchased for your 300. It is a valve stem transmitter just like the JK.
The system used by Chrysler and many other manfacturers, for the TPMS doesn't really measure tire pressure, it measures tire rotation so if a tire gets slack it's rolling radius is reduced creating greater rotational speed as compared to the others, the TPMS measures the difference in tire rotation of that wheel and sets off the alarm and warning light. The system is designed to recognize the rolling tires, four only, thats why it light and buzzer don't come on with the spare on the back or in the trunk. It is aginst federal law to dis-able the TPMS but who will know untill you have a wreck and a clever lawyer will dis-assemble you in court, so just put them in and go wheeling.

is there an easy way to disable the tpms on the JK? its worthless as far as im concerned. in the 300C, at least it told you the actual pressure but there is no display for it in the JK.
