Default Tonneau cover for trunk??

Does any manufacturer make a roll out fabric tonneau cover for the trunk of the JK unlimited?

I think the add-a-trunks are too pricey for me. I'm just going for out of sight out of mind and the convenience of being able to remove the cover quickly. This spring I think I will be adding a custom subwoofer enclosure and would like to have it covered. I'm not going to rely on just my window tint to block prying eyes.

Not one that fits with windows in place. You could make your own, if that were what you were going for, or you could put a cage in there.

That won't work for what he is asking for. He wants something inside, while the top is still on.

Olympic is advertising a rear interior rack like the one for the TJ for both the unlimited and the wrangler. I am planning on mounting this above my enclosure for security. Am also thinking of some type of bottom cover to minimize rain getting to the area behind the seat since I will not be able to use a tonneau with that rack.

Staring at my trunk got me thinking that a setup involving 2 adjustable shower curtain-like rods w/ fabric wrapped around each of them, (picture an ancient scroll), could work.

I KNOW you guys have seen the tonneau covers that have come in Cherokees and Grand Cherokees. Why doesn't Mopar or some other manufacturer come up with something similar to cover up the extra trunk space in the unlimiteds?

I hope somebody will read this thread and come up with the next latest n' greatest DIY tonneau cover write-up.

Heres something you can do. Once you put your sub enclosure in the rear, take some cardboard to use as a template, and trace out and cut the cardboard to fit the space you want to hide. After your happy with the template and the fit, use some 1/2" plywood and trace your template on to it. cut it out, check the fit (adjust if needed) set it in place, screw it to your sub enclosure. Take the enclosure with the cover out. Spray it down with some 3M adheasive, lay some automotive carpet over it (work from the middle out) fold the carpet over the edges and staple (on the under side so you dont see it). Put it back in place, and voila! you now have a stock carpeted cover for all your goodies that looks like the floor. (or at least it will look that way for those looking in the window.

We did some thing very similar for a custom job I did on my buddies expedition, except his was for car shows and had lights and all sorts of crap. It took like 3 weeks to do his build for all the custom crap he wanted.

You could probably use 2 of those adjustable bars that they make for holding cargo in the bed of pickups secure.
