Default Is it too late to rotate in a spare?

Thanks in advance. I have 35" MT MTZ's with 15,000 miles on them. I would like to know if it's o.k to rotate in the spare or is it too late. I don't want to blow up my pumpkin. I'm about to take a 2000+ mile road trip and I just thought I should consider it. As a side note, how many miles should I expect from these tires? Thanks again.

The whole point of a differential is so that the left and right axles may turn at different rates. Don't know if it would upset the ESP though.
I don't see a problem, but I'd like to hear what others have to say.

I would say DON'T DO IT! Driving straight, especially on the highway will cause a lot of extra wear on your diff. It might not break as a result, but I wouldn't risk it.

I have about 50,000 miles on those tires and about a quarter inch left. They don't wear evenly and have had to get them balanced several times and trued once. good luck. I am not getting them again.

That's only three rotations IF you've stayed on top of them. I say do it.

I just had to rotate in my spare (w/ 0 mi) and my other 3 tires have 15k+ miles on them. Nothing noticeable so far and the tire shop who fixed my flat didn't seem to think it would be an issue. I'm also running 35" MT's.

I haven't noticed any funky vibrations or tread wear (yet ) I won't rotate the spare out until I finish repairing my rim.

around 32" of tire, a one inch difference in size is 20 rev/miles difference (same as 275/75R17 vs 275/70R17).

I suppose the difference between your spare and the 15 000miles tires is less than one inch ? I would do it. Anyway, you would have used it, and so did many others if you had blown a tire.

Do you wheel with this jeep? If so, do you air down? When you air down, slippage occurs, and you will need to rebalance more often.
For easy runs, I only go down to 18PSI, and don't usually notice a difference after, but on tough trails, I might go down to 14 or lower, and always need rebalancing after.

I would get it in there, and keep it on the front for the next two rotations, opposite sides. If it's more than a quarter inch off I would consider getting a 6th tire.
