Default Too wide??

I have a set of 5 -15 x 8.5 aluminum rims. with 3.25BS and 6 x 5.5 bolt pattern (old Chevy) if I find adapters, would this be way too wide for comfort?

I don't think that bolt pattern will fit. So the extra width is a secondary issue...

I have seen adapters online that claim to be 5x5 to 6x5.5. but they were 2" wide and 99.00$ each . For that price I would just get some other rims.

I'm ok with the rim width. I am looking for 33's or 285/75 but with these rims and adapters I would have a total BS of 1.25 inches. just not sure if the tire will stick out way to far . Usually a BS of 4.25 or 4.5 seems good enough for a wider tire. Trying to save a little money here. The cost of the adapters is an issue. Just wondering if I should just chuck this idea and spend the money for new rims. The rims on my jeep now are 16 x 7 mopars. They are a bit narrow for the recommended width on a 285/75 tire.

I just saw where terraflex doesn't recommend putting spacers on rims with less than 4" of BS. oh well any one looking for some old chevy rims?
