I was at Pepboys the other day, and I spotted the thule 45050 for $199. I emailed thule to see if they would fit around the roll bars with the top down. They emailed back and said "yep, they will". Complete rack system including keyed locks for $200. I actually ended up deciding to get a kargomaster cargo rack (for winter surf transport too).
But, I figured the surfers/kayakers/home depot warriors in warmer climates would like hear about this deal. It's cheaper than the online places I checked, and it gives you an excuse to go to the store and check out the 1970's style mini-bikes and go-carts while you're there. One day I'm getting me one of them-thar-mini-bike-thingies.


Oh, I also resarched yakima systems. It looks like the lowrider max's with claw II also works for top down.
