Default ???Total lift confusion???

Ok, as I read through all these posts I feel I get more and more confused. My prior Jeep was a 95 and I had a four inch suspension lift, 1 3/4" shackle, and a 2" body lift. With the 35's on it they just seem to fit perfectly. Now I understand that the suspensions are different since the YJ was a leaf spring suspension but I am curious as to how the JK is able to accept such a larger tire with such a smaller lift (i.e. 2.5 budget lift). As I read the posts and look at the pictures a 2.5 lift seems great and it appears it gives a decent amount of ground clearance for the type of wheeling I would plan to do ( no rocks). Originally I wanted to go with the TF 6" LA but as I do research I realize it is more than just installing the lift. Then I started looking at the 4" TF LA and am wondering if I need new driveshafts and other components which could end up being expensive. So as I look at the TF 4" from Quadratec ($2200) compared to a TF 2.5" lift ($616) it just has my head spinning on what to go with. I am just wondering if someone could tell me if there was a post that could explain all of this or if anyone has any helpful imput like ground clearance, performance, etc. I would appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

Do what you want the first time, so you have no regrets. I went with a 3.5" lift on mine the first time. The next JK, I will definitely being getting a long arm system.

x2. There is nothing worse than back tracking and redoing something that you already paid for.

Thanks for the info and I feel the same always go top notch but I wanted to see more facts, I guess I want situations or reasons from people why. I should just bite the bullet and go big. Thanks Joe, I'll be in touch soon.
