Towing
2WD? SHAME ON YOU!
OK, now that I got that out of the way, it depends on what kind of boat. For instance, I tow a 19' carolina skiff with my JK with no problems. It probably has a wet weight around 1900 pounds. There is one ramp I need 4L to get it up because of how steep it is, but normally inclined ramps it's fine in 2WD. A 22' bow rider, center console, or deck boat is going to be heavy as balls. My buddies 21' Hyrdasport is over double the weight of my boat, and if that's your scenario, don't even try it.

If it is over the 3500lb limit, there may be some liability issues to worry about. But I have dragged a boat and loaded uhauls that weighed somewhere in the 3-3.5k range on 10+ hour freeway trips with no issue. (other than the general gutlessness of my 3.8 auto...)
I have an '08 and tow a 20 camper. I run 35 on mine and I have the 373 gear ratio. I put electric brakes on mine.I would suggest putting a dedicated transmission cooler . I have no problems unless its a steep grade
I pulled a 21' camper that I was told weighed a little under 4k lbs. I have 37's and 4:10 gearing at current. It wasn't to bad until I hit a hill. After it down shifted I couldn't hold speed much over maybe 45 mph. Give or take a little. Been a little while now since I towed it. I wouldn't recommend doing it all the time with a setup like mine.
