Default Towing my rig!

Here we go guys! I have come to the conclusion that I will buy me an RV. Its a 4Winds 31E. My question is towing my Jeep behind it. I really don't want to pull a trailer, but with trail riding or lite crawling, anything can happen with breakdowns. I have a PSC Brawler lite front bumper. Would I be able to hook-up that bumper to a tow bar? I'm thinking I would have to hook-up a receiver to the front bumper in order to tow it. I haven't seen anything that would work other than changing bumpers with one that has a receiver. If all I can do is pull a trailer with the Jeep on it, that's what I will have to do. The tow weight on the RV is 7000#. I don't know if I can make the weight with my mods and a trailer. I will weigh my rig and find a trailer to suit my needs, but just looking for options. My rig is a 2011 Wrangler 6 speed manual. Thanks in advance!

I tow my JKUR behind my motorhome regularly.

I use a Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain Tow Bar and quick connect brackets (Roadmaster 1432-3) on the Jeep. I also have the PS Brawler Lite and I was able to use these brackets with just a little modification to how they attach to the Jeep. I made them fit up under the Brawler. I am not able to use the PS lower skid part of the bumper. Not a great pic, but all I have at the moment.

The 2 recievers under the bumper accept the connectors for the tow bar and the plug is for the Jeep lights.

I wired directly into the Jeep taillights (with diodes) to utilize them while towing.

I'm happy to answer any more questions you might have.

So the receivers are welded right? If it's not too much trouble, could you get some closer pics of the receiver mounting? That looks awesome! Take your time cause the RV won't happen for a few months. Thanks for the reply!

No they are bolted on. This link will show you a diagram of the receiver and the bracket.

Might want to look into the 'Cool Tech' towing wiring harness to plug into the JK if flat towing. Plug and play Plug into the RV and JK and go.

Currie makes a towbar set up for the JK's

I ended up having custom tow tabs installed when I ordered my Hansen bumper.

Why don't you want to pull a trailer, personal preference or another reason? If you use your rig offroad and risk breaking something, the trailer offers you more flexibility. Some breaks won't allow for flat towing.

It's just a money thing! I started looking at trailers and it's not bad on price, so I will end up pulling a trailer. All depends on a decent trailer with the right tie down points. I used to haul oilfield equipment on an 18 wheeler and I trust my tie down techniques and just wanna find one that I like that's not gonna drain my wallet.

Default Got it

I fully understand the money issue. We've all been in those situations where we have to make a decision because of it. I do think your best option is going with a trailer. My buddy pulls his jeep on a trailer behind his RV and he said the cost isn't that much greater.
