if it helps, i put on about 15,000 miles on my last set of 37's and still have about 75% tread left. i have run a lot of different tires in my time and can tell you that toyos are simply outstanding on every terrain you can throw at them including snowy/icy pavement. plus, they have super thick sidewalls and are practically bullet proof.

Default weigh a ton?

I have heard that these are most bueno tyres, but each one weighs a TON! I've considered these as replacements for my stock Bridgestones, but it's me daily driver, and I could do without the weight if I'm planning on going to 33's or 34's and not regearing. Actually, I'm wondering how the Cooper STT's compare.

yup, toyo's are E range tires and do in fact weigh a ton. however, i see this as an advantage as the more weight you can keep on the ground, the better it is for your center of gravity

as far as the cooper stt's go, they are a great tire too. they are essentially pro comp xtreme mt's and both perform great on and off the trail. much lighter but the sidewalls are also a lot thinner.

I have run the Toyo M/T's on my Diesel work truck and have 47,000 hard miles (70% Forest Service roads & 30% pavement). Also, I have done some smoke shows with them as I have added powerchips to my CTD and it does not help having +850lb/ft of torque at the rear wheels it eats up tires quickly!! I can say they have worn very well versus other AT tires I ran. I have about another 1500miles left on the tires. Also, like WOL stated they are bullet proof. I have not had a sidewall rock puncture or that matter a flat tire during those hard 47,000miles.

The only drawback is the weight of the E-Load tire they are some heavy some beaches. However, I have to disagree on ICE traction & even on wetter snow conditions they SUCK ARSE with the hard rubber compound & very little sipping. I took the M/T's off in winter to place true M&S tires for better grip and stopping power.

I have the Cooper STT's on our JK are and I can say the are just as good as the Toyo M/T's for road noise, mud & off-road traction. Again The STT's SUCK ARSE on ICE & wetter snow conditions and thus again I run a True M&S tire for winter on the JK.

The wear is good with the STT's with 10k miles they still look new!!!

IMO.....You can't go wrong with either the Toyo M/T or the Cooper STT.

I tried a higher load range tire on my Toyota pickup when I upgraded (went to BS Dueler Revo's) Can't remember if I went to a D or E, but whatever, the ride became so rough as to cause my wife severe back pains, so under the 60 day trial they had at the time, went back to the lower range.

While for extreme rock pounding, I can understand the higher load range, does this affect the ride of the Jeep in the same way? I know you can air them down a bit, but then your mileage would suffer, would it not?

Thanks for the input and experience.
