TOYO OPEN COUNTRY MT 37s vs COOPER STT MT 37s
 

Ive heard good things on both....the cooper chunks on rocks(we dont have those here in the mississippi delta) they ride good on street, but they are made of a harder compound. I had a set of really used ones i never installed--they were hard as brick bats. the other big variable is the price. I can buy a set of four Coopers here locally at a farmers co-op for $1236 including tax. I can have the Toyo sent here by Treaddepot for $1409 total.$173 difference

MY QUESTION IS THIS....DOES $173 MORE MAKE IT A NO BRAINER TO GO WITH THE TOYOS. THANKS

I've run the Toyo's and they are a great all-around tire. The coopers have the price point advantage. If you're really just running around in them, why not save some dough?

The Toyos are a 13.50, while the Coopers are a 12.50. That may be another consideration for you as well.

Either is a win in my book - they get you on 37's!!! :thumbsup:

i've run both and both are good tires. i prefer toyos as they are in my opinion, a better tire, quieter on pavement, have a rubber compound that is outstanding on the rocks (no a concern of yours) and have near bullet proof sidewalls. the coopers will most likley give you more tread life due to the harder rubber and because of it, may be a better buy for your needs.

cant speak for the toyos, but I ran the coopers for 2 years and miss them! the tread pattern is very similar to the toyos as well. I highly recommend the STT's.

really... I have heard many raving about the Toyo tread life... if Cooper is better that is the way to go... if you don't need max off road...

The cooper stt's I had were pretty much done after 30,000m. Great riding tire, the load range D's in 35's I had were actually a soft ass compound, pieces chunked off in the rocks and they, over time got considerably louder than the Toyo's 37's load range E I'm running now which I'm at over 50,000m. As much as I liked the ride of the Coopers, the Toyo's life and toughness win out. Especially when the tires are comparable in price.

interesting, i never got to give the coopers a full term test and the ones we have on vengeance, well, i figured they'd been on there for a long time they're so worn out. if that's the case, i'd have to give my love back to toyo :thumbsup:

I am very happy with my 37 Toyos. Bullet proof at an e load for the JK, just run them at 28 street and 8-10 Offroad. The Toyos are also notoriously round and don't have balance issues. Some guys run them unbalanced with no issues. No experience with the sst, but love my Toyos.

I ran 33" STTs for 3 years and 90,000 miles. Very similar tread pattern compared to the Toyos. Why did I purchase Coopers over Toyos? Lighter weight, I don't do rocks often, less expensive, and Coopers are made in America.

90K miles on a set of tires..... that is amazing!!!!
