I am considering a similar sized tire and will have the RC 2.5" Spring Boost. I have read the FAQ that Zylfrax noted (although it only kinda sorta maybe answers the question). (OT-By the way, I have a couple of offices I manage in Lake Oswego...get over there a couple times a year).

My guess is that 33's and 34's will have some rubbing at various full lock and articulation situations that may require spacers. I am torn between spacers and wheels, as I really don't want to do either but wouldn't mind just a bit more tire.

My recommendation would be to go for it, then if you need spacers, get them. I am NOT a Jeep expert (total NEWB here), but again, the threads I have found on this topic exactly seem to indicate that you are mostly ok, but may see some rubbing at the edge of the envelope. I am not getting new tires until Spring, so let me know how it turns out for you.

In my opinion you will have to but I could be wrong. I had to with my 305/65/18's.

in the thread posted it says,
Q: What back spacing will I need on my wheels in order to clear 12.50 wide tires?
A: I would recommend that you do not exceed 4.75" of back spacing and even at that, you may still have some minor rubbing up front at a full turn. Also, I would recommend that you do not go any less than 3.75" as anything less would cause your tires to stick out very far past the fender flares. Any back spacing within this range should work out great.

With a 12.5 tire and 4.75 back spacing, that would bring it up to 6.25 with the 11" wide tire so it should be okay with maybe a little bit of rub?

I'd imagine that you would still need 5" Back Space. You aren't just concerned on rubbing the fenders. Also don't want to run your plastic air dam and any of the rods on the inside of your wheel well either.

right which is why the 6.25 would be sufficient if what that question is saying right?
