Default Tpms ?

I am going to sell my stock 17's from my 2009 Unlimited to upgrade to 33's. My question is, I am selling the TPMS with the stock tires. Do I need to buy new for the 33's or just run without them?

These are your options.

1. Have the sensors switched in to the new rims...if they fit.
2. Replace them with new ones and have the CPU reprogrammed with the new TPMS sensor IDs.
3. Put up with the chime every time you start, the (_!_) icon and the high bright gauge cluster.
4. Get a programmer and set the pressures to 0; Disable TPMS.

That about sums it up. Just make sure you know which route you are going before you change wheels so you don't have to pay to install the sensors and balance the wheels again (potentially)

Thanks for the information. A few addtional questions:

Do I need to take to the dealer for them to re-program the CPU?
Are the sensors easy to swap?
About how much are a new set of sensors?

I am not afraid to turn a wrench, but don't want to get over my head

I'm not sure if the dealer will do it for you or not. I know the Superchips and Hypertech tuners will disable the light

Sensors are about $150 for a used set in the classifieds.

The tire has to be broken down off the rim to remove or install them.

If you are looking to keep the tpms working you should keep your factory sensors. All you have to do to remove the sensors is have a tire shop break down the top bead on the tires and remove the nut then the sensor. Depending on what wheels you now have they may or may not fit the aftermarket wheels. I just turned mine off with an AEV procal
