does the TPMS from a 2007 sahara with 18" wheel fit, and work, on a 2012 sport 17" wheel?

It would need to be synced to your vehicle.

The TPMS is off my 07 with 18" and I was going to put them on stock sport 17" rims that are off a 2012. Would they still need sync'd?

You could try them. Worst case, you pay for mounting Twice.
