TPMS and airind down
Are there any ill effects from airing down for offroading with the TPMS? Is there just a light that will show me I have insufficent air pressure, or is there more to it?
Thanks

The ill effects are that the sensors are cheaply made, very, very easy to break, and they get quite expensive to keep replacing. I would suggest you consider a procal or flashpaq rather than replace them...
And yes, the system will reset after airing back up. Some have indicated that it may take a while for the light to turn off, so just give it some time if it stay on.

You can get a Procal from AVE for about $150 and it will let you reset the tire pressure threshold down to zero. The Superchips is $300+ and will only go down to 16 PSI I think (check with manufacture, not on website).

You can download (for free) a module for the Superchips Flashpaq to completely disable the TPMS. Flashpaq also has a few other features that Procal doesn't, but if all you're after is disabling TPMS, Procal is probably the way to go.
My superchips will let you set the TPMS to anything from 26psi on up or you can disable it alltogether. It will not let me set it between 1 and 25 though. Nice feature off road so you don't get the chimes every time you start up.

need me a superchips
