Default TPMS and bigger tires...any problems?

I think I'm going to have a shop do the install, tire mounting and balancing, and alignment. They gave me a total estimate of $600 for everything, (basically) a 4" short arm install. Is that a good price?

So when I do get my lift and 35s put on, what do I do about the TPMS sensors? Do I need new ones or can I remove the stock ones and use them with the new set up? Should the shop just automatically take care of it?

I can't really find any info on here about it.

You can buy new ones for a ton or you can have the shop take them out of your old wheels. If you do not, you will have to live with the tire pressure light on all the time.

I went with just taking my old ones out and putting them in the new wheels. The shop did not charge me since I bought the wheels, tires, mount and balance from them. And they remounted and balanced the original tires.

you should be able to reuse the factory ones but you will need to remind your shop to do this.

If you don't transfer the sensors over from your stock wheels or buy new ones you can buy a Procal and disable the TPMS light / chime with it. That's what I did.

I bought a new set so if I needed to switch back to my stock tires I wouldn't have to worry about. They were around $40 each.

Same here. Don't need the TPMS, too damn sensitive.

And are the TPMS sensors behind the valve stem, or around the rim like on older vehicles? I'm assuming the valve stem deal...

I bought the sensors with the wheels and tires from 4WD.com. They charged $30 a wheel.
