Default TPMS Sensors / Where do you get them?

Putting new tires and wheels on very soon and would like to keep the stock wheels intact for now. So where is a good place to find sensors for the new wheels?

Racer,

Thanks for the quick response, is there a particular part number for the correct sensor? I contacted Discount Tire Direct and they say they only have the relocation kits, not the sensors.

One last question, once the sensors are installed does it require a trip to the dealer to program them or can any tire shop get them up and working?

Thanks,

Update, contacted the local dealer and they have the sensors in stock, $47.95 each. Then it's an hour labor charge to program, wowzers! Hopefully someone knows of a cheaper alternative

I asked the jeep engineers the same question at a recent live event at *another* site and they claimed that any legitimate sensor should work fine...so maybe worth a try. Take down the serial numbers on the sensors or photograph them before you seal things up.

In other news, I was able to find the sensors for $36 at moparpartsamerica.com.

Cheers

That's where I got mine, but MAKE SURE you get the ones that include the outer NUT or at least order them at the same time, as they sell them without any stem hardware, complete, and separate stem hardware (the Nut MP p/n is 56053037AB @ 1.41ea). I got burned by thinking that the TPMS would come complete, but I only got the sensor, with no mounting nut. Forget trying to locate it locally, too. If you have deep valve stem hole wheels, you need to stock jam nut as it's hex head sticks out to get a socket on.

I looked for the p/n that I ordered for the main TPMS, but MPA does not put the MOPAR number on the invoice, only the description. It says "sensor tire pressure".

Default tpms stems

where are you located? You can get these from the dealer but, hold on for the price. Most BIG tire dealers have them or can get them.Let me know if you still have trouble finding these.

Why buy them...just re-use your factory ones. I did it 10,000 miles ago and NO ISSUES yet!! They are part of your valve stem assembly, so just tell the tire shop they are there and to be careful removing them for install.

The part number is 56053036AA.

I am also considering a few more sensors to make my stockers a complete winter option. Required where winted may involve ice and salt. I really do not want to keep on swaping out the 5 sensors seasonally.
