Track Bar Bracket needed with adjustable track bar?
Do I need to install a track bar relocation bracket if I am using an adjustable rear track bar?
A friend had a sky jacker on his previous JK that included an axle mounted relocation bracket. Somehow, over a little time, his entire axle housing was damaged and had to be replaced. He blamed it on the bracket. His new setup has a JKS adjustable track bar. No relocation bracket.
Are they only needed on some setups?

You are fine with the location of the stock brackets up to about a 3" lift. Even then, the stock bracket is weak and should be gusseted if you off road with a longer travel suspension.
At 4" or taller, the jeep will handle better with a raised axle side bracket, but the old Skyjacker design is terrible and puts too much leverage on the stock bracket. TeraFlex and AEV have bolt on brackets that work well. Other companies have weld-on axle side brackets that are a significant upgrade to the stock bracket.
