Default Track Bar Help

Ok, so here goes, My wife bought me a Rough Country 3.5" series II lift for my 07 JK Unlimited. After it was installed the death wobble began, everything has been checked over and they can not find anything at the local mechanic. I am wanting to get a new JKS or Teraflex Adj, Track bar. I am not very knowledgeable with all the steering. So if I just buy the adjustable track bar, do I need to buy brackets, and will I need to take off the Rough Country drop pitman arm? Would I need to take off the Rough Country Bracket for the Track Bar?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Front: Lifted coil springs, fixed lower control arms with OEM style rubber bushings, track bar drop bracket, pitman arm, brake line relocation brackets & hardware.
Adj Trackbar
-Or-
Track Bar Drop Bracket & Drop Pitman Arm

One or the other - Not both...

Remove the bracket, put the stock pitman back on, install the new adj trackbar - hopefully the steering issues are corrected.

So basically if I put on the adj Track bar, then I need to take off the drop pitman arm and take off the Rough Country Drop down track bar bracket.

not necessarily. an adjustable track bar would technically allow you to remove the relocation bracket and by virtue of it, the dropped pitman arm as well. however, doing so will change your steering geometry and that will effect your handling negatively. unfortuantely, the track bar relocation bracket that comes with this kit is not reinforced and i have seen at least one instance where it acted as a lever and caused the factory frame mount to break. as it starts to fail, it can and will cause DW. optimally, it would be good to keep the bracket and use it in conjunction to an adjustable track bar but, if you do keep it, i would highly recommend that you have it welded/reinforced.

I bought a frame side track bar bracket reinforcement from Northridge that eliminates the relocation and then envelopes the stock bracket bolting on in 4 places including the 2 lower steering gear bolts. Super beefy and easy to install. Not sure the brand but Dave can guide you correctly.

Here is a little vid that TeraFlex put together, showing the steering angles you want to keep.

My understanding is that this lift kit comes with both a trackbar drop bracket and a drop pitman arm, correct? Using both of these keeps the steering angles where you want them. Removing one of the drop brackets, and leaving the other installed, causes the angles to be off, which leads to bump steer/poor handling. (as noted in the vid).

I have never used this setup, so have no personal experience, but it doesn't make sense to me that using only one of these brackets would improve handling?
