Default Trackbar Bracket Broke

2007 JKU, Dana 30, 4.10 gears, 2.5" BB, stock rims, 275/75R17, Teraflex monster track bar

I was on the way home from wheeling today and found out the bracket that hold the track bar and steering stabilizer broke off from the axle.

Can I just weld it back? Do I need to worry about heating up the axle? Do I need to take the axle apart before I do this? Which is the best way to weld it, stick, mig, or tig?

This happened to my 07 I had about 5 years ago. Just welded it back on and added a gusset. Never had an issue again.

Did you weld it with the axle on the jeep? Which type did you use, stick, tig, mig? Don't want to heat up the axle and warp it.

Get an aftermarket one, it will be a lot stronger.

Yes, the axle was on the jeep. Stick.

You can weld it back, but I think it's obvious how weak the stock one is. As recommended above, probably a good idea to get a beefy aftermarket made from 1/4" steel. Not much money.

The axle tubes are 1/4" wall. You are fine to weld it up. Only time you need to be careful is when welding a large truss on.

Weld with whatever process you are most comfortable with and that you have a welder that can put out enough heat for 1/4". I use MIG and would use around 180-190 amps for that. Less of you weld the stock bracket back on.
