Default Trackbar Relocation Bracket

Do you have to use the trackbar relocation bracket if you install an adjustable trackbar?

I have the RC 3.5" Series II lift and I did not use the supplied trackbar relocation bracket. Read several posts before installing saying if you used an Adjustable trackbar it is not needed. Is this information correct?

I have a JKS adjustable trackbar in case that info is needed.

The reason I am asking is, I am getting some slight bumpsteer and wondering if installing the bracket and adjustable trackbar would eliminatte this.

Thanks in advance for any and all replies....

To my understanding no you do not need to use it.

BUT, usually the aftermarket trackbar bracket, is heavy gauge than the factory one. My rock krawler rear bracket for example, is supposed to be welded in place which i have not done, but it is definately beefier than the stock bracket if you weld it. Right now it is only attached to the stock bracket so obviously its not stronger than what is holding it.

Take a look at your steering and verify that the trackbar and drag link are parallel. Having them uneven can cause bumpsteer. Generally, if you use a trackbar bracket, you will want to use a drop pitman also to keep the geometry correct.

i have the same lift.... put on the adjustable track bar, trash that drop bracket, and put your stock pitman arm back on. you should be good to go. that kit comes with a drop pitman and you probably have it on. you cant use a drop pitman without the drop trackbar bracket or vise versa. either use them both or dont use either. this is first hand experience. the best way to go is trash the drop pitman and the bracket, that is what i did and it drives fine

Not familiar with this kit, but you are correct. If you use a drop pitman arm you have to lower the track bar. An adjustable track bar allows you to adjust the axle side to side allowing you to center the axle.
