Default Traction Control Engages on Sweeping Right Turns

My traction control engages when making right hand sweeping turns taking entrance ramps onto the freeway. The light that shows the vehicle skidding comes on and it feels like something is rubbing or at least trying to slow it down. Tight turns in a parking lot does not make it do this. Will this hurt anything?

The Steering needs adjustment. Mine did this after i lifted it not knowing about centering of the wheel would cause this to happen. I adjusted mine in the shop did fine but i still am getting it aligned Friday.

Its speed related too - make sure your steering wheel is straight when you are driving straight

If you've lift it you will need to adjust the drag link to level the steering wheel

Mine did exactly that after a 2.5" BB. The same off-ramp at the same speed (about 35-40). Repeated it several times on different days. I was going pretty fast, but I didn't feel at all like the ESP needed to kick in. I had recentered the steering already. After that, I also lowered my tire pressures to 30 (the installer had them at 44!) and reprogrammed with the Hypertech (probably a coincidence, but thought it was worth mentioning). Now I can take that turn at between 45 and 50 before ESP kicks in. And I agree with its decision to do so! So, check your tire pressures.

my brothers unlimited after 4inch of lift did this to a point we towed it to an allingment shop to straighten the steering, because when your steering is titled it means your jeep should turn meaning the rear tires should be spinning at different speeds which they are not because your goin straight so the esp turns on.

alignment, i have tried alot of stuff to fix mine taken to dealer, they do it in a parking lot, esb will not kick on, mine is usually on long sweeping offramps/exits, speed ranging from 25 on, it really gets bad after a wheeling trip, because the alignment is out, now just use the esb as a aid to tell me when the alignment is out then take jk to shop and take advantage of there lifetime alignment....

There was recall in early 07 models for this problem. After lifting mine 3 inches I had the same thing happen quite a bit. I ignored it until it started happening as i was driving STRAIGHT on the freeway. Not good for your Jeep to start braking all by itself on the freeway at 65 miles per hour. Any way I asked the dealer to check the stored codes and the CPU stored the code for "alignment"
Here is the kicker....the alignment was within factory specs. I had installed the BDS 3 inch lift, with the BDS disconnects. I was waiting for JKS to hit the market, they were not out yet. But as sson as i got the email from JKS that they were available, I ordered a set of quicker diconnects, replaced the BDS with JKS, and problem SOLVED!!!! I am not bad mouthing BDS at all, both of my Jeeps have BDS lifts. And the lift for my JK was available before my JK was in OCT 06. I had the lift waiting at home while th JK was back ordered in 06. SO in short I do not know if you are lifted but if you are, check swaybar angle. If it is not LEVEL, it will mess with the CPU alot.

Appreciate the replies. Mine goes on at even 20 mph around a right turn. Sometimes the esp and car skidding sign stays on for awhile. The steering wheel is centered. I do have a early 07, but it was ok prior to lifting. I'll check the swaybar angle. Thanks.
