Default Trail Grappler

I have decided to upgrade my stock Rubi Tires to Trail Grapper 285/75r17. According to Nitto's site, this tire mounted and inflated on a 8.5" wheel is 34.06 inches tall. My rims are 9 inch wide steelies. If anybody else is running this tire, at what pressure do you run them on the street, and how do they stand mounted on your rims.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply, mook. Looking at Nitto's site, you are on the minumum side of the approved rim width for the 35, but very close to the height spec which is 34.84. ( 17" rim)

I went with the 285/75 to keep the tire relatively skinny. It just works better for what I need. I won't bore anybody with why. I was just a little puzzled by the fact that Nitto specifies dimensions for the tire that are greater than the stated size. Rim width and inflation can effect that, so I thought I'd inquire with folks who already run this tire or something very similar.

My 35s measured out to 33.75 on the stock rims running at 35psi. Make sure when you have them mounted they pay attention to he sidewalk as there is two different sides to it.

Good point about the sidewall. I'll make sure I mention it. Thanks!

I have them in the AT version. Mine are about 34.5 unmounted and 33.25 mounted at 28 psi.

just installed some 295 70 18 friday so far I'm pretty happy with them they aren't too loud on the road they are a rougher ride compared to stock but i expected that. They measured out to be a little over 33 1/2 with 29 psi nittos website says they should be at 34.57. Haven't had a chance to go off road with the new tires looking to see how they do

Hi. I would like to buy those tires for my Sahara 2008 and use the stock wheels. My jk already has 1.25 spacers and 2 inches lift. I wonder how much the gas increase? Now my gpm is 17 in 33 stock tires. Thanks

These tires actually have a better rolling tread that allow for less rolling resistance. With any larger heavier tire your gas milage is going to suffer.
