Question Trailmaster 3" lift? Anyone have an opinion on it?

I am looking at getting the trailmaster 3" lift. I was wondering if anyone had an opinion they could share on this lift kit? I am going to put it in My 2011 Rubicon 4dr. Then some 35" tires on 17" rims.

Thanks J

Here is the link to the kit.

Everyone will have an opinion on brands, usually thinking what they run is the best.

In general:
Determine what your intended use is.
Determine what your budget is.
Check what the lift you want comes with.
Then buy as much as possible with your money (are shocks included? Does the kit include lower adjustable arms? Upper adjustable arms? A HD trackbar relocation bracket? A drag link flip? Are control arms included at all, etc.)

Most people on this site are doing a combo of daily driving and moderate wheeling. Common brands are Tera Flex, Pro Comp, 4wd Hardware, Rubicon Express, Full Traction, Superlift, Rancho and others.

Everyone will give you their opinion. My is to get what meets your needs for the best value.

Yes, figure out what your needs are first and then buy a lift. If you don't know what you want any lift will do.

For companies, TeraFlex, Full Traction, Northidge Old Man Emu Long Travel Kit, and Rock Krawler seem to have the best products and support. Clayton also seems to have a good rep - I just have never seen anyone with a Clayton setup; have all the others. I would buy from one of these.

I have a Trailmaster 4.5" lift and love it. They quality is exceptional. It is very beefy. And the customer service from Yates has been nothing but professional and responsive. Several of us here in my area have gone with this lift and nobody has had a complaint yet.

It's a spacer lift. A spacer is a spacer.

It has:
New rear links, you move your stock rear links to the front.
Rear trackbar bracket
Front trackbar - can't tell if it is adjustable?
Bumpstops
Shocks

It does not have:
Brake line extensions or brackets
Caster correction

Compare the included components and the price. And if you plan on adding a bunch of weight, you should consider whether or not you would be better off with coils instead of spacers.

So let me get this straight - the lift comes with bumpstops and shocks, pucks but no coils?

So you have to pull the front coils to put in the bumpstops, and then put the stock coils back on? Call me crazy, but if I were to pull stock coils to install bumpstops I would seriously consider a coil lift and get more for the investment of labor.

Umm, isnt that what a spacer lift is? Havent seen one yet with coils. Nor have I seen one that provides a new trackbar like this one does.

My point is it comes with bumpstops. You have to pull the front coils to install bumpstops as they sit inside the coil in the front, not true in the rear. If I am putting in the labor to pull the coils and install the bumpstops, I would consider upgrading the stock coils at the same time, and not do a spacer lift

You have to pull the coil to put the coil spacer on, so why would the bumpstop make any difference at all?

The choice is spacer vs new coil, and that depends on budget and how much weight you intend to add. Many people simply do not need new coils, or the costs that go along with the taller lifts.

Hey J,

The kit you're asking about is our most popular trail master kit. Below is the product photo.

This kit will definately allow you to fit 35's on your Jeep. In this kit we've include an adjustable front track bar and rear track bar bracket so the jeep will drive with NO bump steer.
