trailsash 2 questions
I got a traildash 2 for christmas (I have a 2011 jkur, 6spd, 3.5 aev lift, 35" toyo m/t, 5.13 gears) and have a couple of questions for you guys that are using them. first thing is, I set the tire size, gear size and tire pressure with the pro-cal that came with the lift kit, will I have to do that over again with the trail dash? or will the changes stay from the pro-cal. next, in my area I have 87,89 or 92 octane fuel as choices, could I run the 93 octane program or stick to the 91 octane program? I now from reading the posts about programers not to expect much power increase form these tunes, I mostly wanted the gauge functions, the rubicon functions, and maybe the back-up camera some day. Also has anyone done the camera option? Install effort? does it work well? Any other advice as well for this product would be appreciated, I plan on installing it this weekend. Thanks.

You will need to return your jeep to stock with the procal before you hook up the traildash. You can't have 2 programmers hooked into your ecm at the same time. Once that is done you can install the traildash and key back in all the info needed. Ie tire size, and gear ratio. On the tunes I have the same octane ratings for gas as you do. I asked superchips and they said that you don't want to run a tune that does a higher octane rating than what you are running in the tank. Therfore run the 91 tune for 92 octane gas. Other people have done the 93 tune with 92 gas and have had no problems. If you do it and it spark knocks put it back to 91.
I have the traildash2 on my 13 Rubicon and love it. All the gauges come in handy and they're user configurable. Haven't done the camera mod yet. Been thinking about it though. Enjoy and good luck
Thanks, I was starting to read the instructions for this weekends install, looks like the first thing I need to do is go online and get the latest updates to the programer. Any other tips or comments and experiences let me know, I check in here 1-2 times a day.
Yes. Definitely do the update first. If after getting it installed and have any questions you can pm me. No problem. Happy new year
One other thing. If you have a Rubicon and user the traildash to control the lockers in 4hi. The lights will flash and then go away. But your lockers will still be engaged. It's a little deceiving. Called superchips about it and that's what they told me
Talking about two different things, programming and tuning. No issues using the procal for programming and a tuner for the tunes. (I couldn't get the speedo accurate with a flashpaq, so went back to procal for that and kept the flashpaq tune. No issues at all)
If you are only using the superchips, then yes, go back to stock with the procal first --> so it unlocks and you can sell it.

i just bought a TD2 a week or so ago during the christmas sale and love it. Now i just have to keep from staring at the numbers and keep my eyes on the road so i dont kill myself.
Bought it so when i do my lift and tires i can shut off my tpms and re figure the tire size so the ecu dosent freak out.
Geting the tpms unlock code is a kind of a PITA.

I was reading in the instruction book about the TPMS code, why all the extra hoops to jump through to make that feature work? I want that feature, so I guess that I will try to do that when I update the unit.
