Default Trans. Cooler Question - Protecting Lines

My husband had a question about the install.

After Installing the Auxilliary B&M Transmission Fluid Cooler I noticed the lines are in contact with different frame components as the lines thread back to their radiator flex hose connection points. From past experience over time wear can develop on the rubber transmission lines at contact points from movement/dirt creating friction. I decided to sleeve the lines with some 3/4" split plastic corrugated engine electrical conduit as sold at autozone, etc. I put a small zip tie to hold it in place on each end just snugging it up the rubber trans. line. Has anyone had any negative experience using these with rubber lines such as these which get hot. It may elliminae some of the heat decipation on the lines but I have driven the vehicle about 30 miles in the southeastern heat we have had the past few days and have not noticed any probelms. I also have a steep gravel road from hell we travel and figured this may protect the lines from debri. Thoughts?

Dog- the conduit will work just fine, I work on new vehicles all the time that use the corrugated conduit on harnesses in hot areas, on some radiator hoses even...Go for it !!!

Yea, a great idea. The plastic conduit should protect the lines nicely.

After looking at mine, I really don't like the rubber hoses at all. The bends are a little too drastic and too exposed. Right now the cooler is mounted on the JK waiting for me to bend up some steel line and use them to tap into the return line.

This is exactly why when I FINALLY get around to installing mine, I am giong to hard line install it using double flares and flare nuts. Not that there's anything wrong with hose, hard lines will be a more factory sort of installation.
