Default trans steering cooler impressions so far and a ?

hay ive been monitoring my coolent temps for a couple days maybe 3 hrs total with my aeroforce gauge. My stock engine rad is clean and coolant level is spot on. I range from 192-212 usually around town and highway. I bought the psc dual trans and steering cooler. I knew temps would go up due to the cooler going across the whole rad. I never see below 200 and often see 219 with both loops installed. This is driving around town and highway not pushing the jeep offroad. I took the steering loop off and will continue to monitor temps. Seems like a decent kit just I think it resricts airflow to much unless you want your fan constantly on. BTW ive only mounted the rads to monitor temps of the engine coolant nothings been cut inline yet not sure if im going with this kit just yet.

Has anyone with a trans cooler I dont care what brand monitored how much higher your engine temps went?

I run both, trans cooler and ram assist steering cooler, in front of the radiator. My radiator/coolant temps are no higher than before the addition of the two other coolers up front. Now my electric fan may kick on and off more often, but down here in the desert southwest where it's been up to 117-119 degrees this summer, I have no overheating issues. Radiator temps average around 190-204, and have peaked at 217, but immediately began dropping in seconds as fan cooled it down.

Yea I saw your setup on a different thread. You have the cylinder setup for steering correct? This might be the solution. I'll see how it does with only one infront of the rad for a couple days. The only reason I went with this manufacturer over the other is it looked like a very clean setup

You know I was going to do the PSC dual set up that they have just come out with (I had actually posted the link to it in one of the original trans cooler threads), then ORW came out with the monster trans cooler and I went with that one due to the aircraft aluminum style fittings. Anyway, I do run the heat sink style (finned tube) cooler for my steering that I bought from PSC and it has worked well for me. I don't think your radiator temps are anything to worry about, the seem completely in range and on the normal side. I run an Aeroforce interceptor scan gauge which uses the vehicles computer to get the digital readings for almost any parameter you can imagine, so I'm seeing the digital number as well as the stock dash needle gauge on coolant temps. I have never seen my dash gauge read any higher than right in the middle (actually it's always a hair to cool side and not middle).

I say run both of those additional coolers. I'm in the country's hottest area and my rigs coolant system is doing it's job very well......but I keep up on all my regular maintenance as well as extra special care of all systems, I am anal retentive that way since I wheel pretty damn hard.
